List of Experiments
1. To determine the specific resistance for a given material of the wire using the Carey Foster Bridge.
2. To determine the value of the specific charge (e/m) of an electron by J.J. Thomason’s method.
3. To determine the width of the forbidden energy gap in a semiconductor diode.
4. To measure the resistivity and energy band gap of a germanium crystal using four probe method.
5. To determine the frequency of a.c. mains using an electric vibrator.
6. The Planck’s constant determination using LED.
7. To determine the temperature coefficient of platinum using the Callender and Griffith Bridge and Platinum resistance thermometer.
8. To study and measure the effects of forward and reverse bias on the zener diode current. Plot a graph between current (I) and voltage (V) also calculate the static and dynamic resistances.
Additional experiments
1. To study Cathode Ray Oscilloscope (CRO).
a) To measure the amplitude, time period, and frequency of time-varying signals.
b) To study Lissajous figures to measure the phase difference between the two signals of the same frequencies.
1. To determine the thermal conductivity of insulating material (mica) using Lee’s disc method.
